Masyarakat Lampung pada umumnya masih berada di “saving society” (masyarakat yang menabung) dan belum berada di tingkatan “investing society” (masyarakat yang berinvestasi). Dari jumlah investor juga sangat sedikit jika dibandingkan dengan jumlah penduduk Bandar Lampung yang mencapai 8 juta jiwa.Dari jumlah tersebut, ternyata sektor jasa keuangan belum seluruhnya dikenal dengan baik oleh masyarakat Lampung, termasuk industri pasar modal. Angka ini jika dibandingkan dengan potensi yang dilihat dari dana tabungan di bank yang mencapai Rp28 trilyun, tentunya sangat kecil sekali. Total nilai aset investor Provinsi Lampung di pasar modal sebesar Rp391 milyar. Sedangkan per 4 November 2014, untuk kota Bandar Lampung terdapat kenaikan 13% atau sebanyak 2.115 investor dibanding bulan yang sama tahun sebelumnya yang hanya mencapai 1.875 investor. Data dari PT KSEI menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Lampung yang menjadi investor per Januari sampai Oktober 2014 total investor sebanyak 2.959 investor. Banyaknya jumlah dana masyarakat, belum diimbangi dengan pengetahuan investasi untuk masyarakat Lampung termasuk di pasar modal.
